WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
December 18, 2008

Dear Parents, Students, Staff, and Friends,

GO TELL IT ON THE MOUNTAIN
I would like to commend all the students in kindergarten through grade twelve who made the evening of December 11, 2008, so wonderful, so entertaining, and so joyous! This new approach to our annual Christmas program appears to have been a great success and blessing for us all.
“Thank you”, students, for the gift you gave to all that evening.
“Thank you” to all parents and community members who helped make this evening so special. It is also noted that our teachers are to be commended for their leadership, direction and dedication in preparing our students for this program.
Mr. Steil, Mrs. Daws, and Mrs. Foat all contributed so much to enhance their students’ performances.
Finally, a very big “Bravo” to Mrs. Hasenour, our vocal music instructor, for bringing it all together and providing the positive attitude that ensured the program’s success.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

ADDESSE FIRST EARLY BIRD PRIZE
At our Christmas Program on December 11, our first Early Bird Prize of $300 was awarded to the team with the highest sales. If you weren’t at the Christmas Program, the prize went to a very enthusiastic 6th grade class. Congratulations sixth graders!

The next Early Bird Prize of $200 will be announced on Friday, December 19 following the Ring Ceremony at Aquin. Each class still has a chance at winning that prize. All tickets must be turned in to either school office by 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 18, to be counted toward the winning total.

If you have tickets that you haven’t sold and aren’t planning to sell, please return them to the school offices. Help us keep our expenses down by not having to print extra tickets. Thank You!

ADVENT UPDATE
During the Advent season, the students donated approximately $839.59 (as of Wednesday, December 17) for the Salvation Army and the Red Cross. Donations for these organizations will be accepted through Friday, December 19. On behalf of this school, we sincerely thank our students for caring about these deserving organizations.

GIFT EXCHANGES
Students in the 3-Day through sixth grades are reminded to bring their gifts (if they have not already done so) for their respective class’s gift exchange, which will take place tomorrow, Friday, December 19.

LETTERS TO SOLDIERS
I recently spoke with Mr. Cluckey, our scout leader, and he indi-cated that he would like to send personal let-ters to a squadron of United States Marines, which is stationed in Iraq. Therefore, our stu-dents in grades K-6 are completing their let-ters in which they are thanking our troops for their good work, indicating our support for them, and sharing our prayers for their safe return to the United States. We are very proud of our students for sharing their feel-ings with our brave marines. Mr. Cluckey will be collecting and sending these letters on or around December 19.
